Sunday July 5 – Phipps Creek Campsite to Susie’s Lake. Today’s miles – 10.7. Total trip miles – 51.5.
Today was our hardest but arguably most beautiful day yet. Though it’s difficult or pointless to compare beautiful things…they all just are.
The hard part was easier to determine as we climbed almost 2000′ first thing in the morning to the top of Dick’s Pass (est 9400′). But we were treated with panoramic lake views in all directions. And we earned (we think) the respect of a stoic but cute marmot who’s up there every day.
